The Breakdown of the Training Program
What to expect when you are expecting... contracts through your partnership with TJA.
CBT 101 - Partnership Initial Training (includes all services)
(typically requires
sixty to ninety days for completion)
Schedule: Marketing Promotional Material
Branding Information: To start advertising right away your company will need to provide the following information: a USP, a logo, a mission statement and business cards.
A USP is a Unique Selling Proposition; if you do not have this or any of the following pieces needed for branding, we can develop them with you through our promotional department.
A logo brands who you are, it is an image that represents your company and reminds people of your services.
You will also need to develop a Mission Statement which will be one of the first things you will do in your business plan. This information will go into your proposal, this tells the customer why you are unique and what sets you apart from your competition.
Business Card development:
No it's not just a 2'' x 3'' piece of paper. It is an important connection between you and your
customer. That is why it is imperative for you to follow the advertising guidelines such as
how many pieces of information to have on your business card, what type of information
you will need and what should stand out the most.
Website Development and hosting (Search Engine Optimization)
Developing a
website will help your company get the exposure it desperately needs. Most janitorial
companies work out of their home therefor they do not have a store front for their customers.
For this reason, it is crucial for your company to have a website in order to show your
customers who you are and why you are better than your competitor. Your site will also
help brand your company. Just because you have a site does not mean your phone will
be ringing off the hook with business opportunities, you must get your name out there.
This is precisely what we will help you do. We will not only set up advertising for your
site, we will also empower and, teach you the important advertising information that you can use to
market and brand your site.
Schedule: Business Plan
Business Plan development:
Did you know that the majority of entrepreneurs do not
even have a business plan? More than 90% of companies that fail
within their first three years of business never put together a professional business plan. A
business plan organizes your business from start to finish. It lays out all of your ideas,
marketing plans, projections, financials, and every other important part of your
business. Another reason a business plan is a necessity for you to have for your
business is because you will need one if you want to apply for a small business loan.
Basic Walk-Through Training (101)
The Three Keys
A walk-through is when you, the cleaner, meet a customer at the site which they would
like to be cleaned, assess the job site, and learn about the customer and their building.
It is from this initial meeting that you can obtain business. The Basic Walk-through
video will teach you about how a professional performs a successful walkthrough. You will learn how to address the
customer, how to lead the customer, and how to understand the basic needs of the
customer. You will also learn how to determine the square footage of a building. You will
learn how to use the walk-through survey which will guide you through the walk-through
and help you ask the essential questions for you to attain business.
Sales Training (101)
Sales Training 101 will teach you the most important steps you will take during the walk-
through and follow up process. You will encounter the most practiced and successful
methods that are used by the best marketing professionals in the marketing and selling world.
This video is not only a necessity to running a successful business but it will show you
what steps you need to take in order to close a deal. You will also learn how to listen
and understand the needs of the customer. Sales Training 101 provides you with an
introduction to the sales world which is valuable to anyone who deals with customers
on any level.
Schedule: Five Training Classes
Basic Cleaning Techniques (101)
Basic Cleaning Techniques will teach you beginning information that most cleaners use
to clean effectively. This training video will teach you how to carry out some of the basic
cleaning methods you will perform such as dusting, mopping, and window cleaning.
This video will help you become more comfortable with your job, including teaching you
what to do before you begin cleaning, how to use basic cleaning equipment, and the
most effective ways to clean (such as cleaning clockwise around a room). This video is
great for anyone who is new to the janitorial industry.
OSHA Hazard Communication (101)
OSHA stands for: Occupational Safety and Health Administration - OSHA Home Page. OSHA training is essential for the safety and liability of every janitor. This
video provides an overview of the OSHA Hazardous Communication Standard. It
defines what hazardous materials are, provides information on the three key
components to maintaining safety in your workplace (labels, material safety data
sheets, and training), gives a detailed description of the employers responsibility, and
explains how to keep safe in the workplace. With over 500,000 different hazardous
chemicals out there it is important for workers to know what their chemicals do, how
they can be dangerous, and proper precautions to take when handling them. Training
and general knowledge of chemicals used in the workplace is essential to safe,
effective cleaning.
Restroom Sanitation (101)
The Restroom Sanitation video covers safety, preparation, daily cleaning procedure,
periodic/detail cleaning, and clean-up that is necessary to maintain a clean and
presentable restroom. It is important to keep restrooms sanitary because it promotes
hygiene for those who use it and is a visible representation of your customer. This
video teaches you some basic procedures when cleaning restrooms, for example;
always cleaning from top to bottom, cleaning from dry to wet, and working your way

Key Objectives (goals)
Operations Manual development
What separates mediocre companies from successful companies? Successful companies have a well established business model. An operations manual helps
create an effective business model. That is why your operations manual development is
crucial. You need all of your information which represents your company on paper. An operations manual will cover all the necessary information about the
processes your janitorial company will perform. The most common types of manuals that
you will have in your operations manual are an employee handbook, marketing manual,
and an employee training manual.
Employee Handbook development
Employee handbooks in most cases are called policy and procedures Manuals. The
employee handbook/manual gives the employee understanding of the policies of your
business and how your commercial cleaning business is to be conducted. The
employee handbook is one of the most important communication tools between your
company and your employees. Not only does it set the standard of your expectations for
your employees, but it also describes what they can expect from the company. It is
essential that your company has one, and it is important for it to be clear, and as
unambiguous as possible. Misunderstandings or misstatements can create legal
liabilities for your business. In legal disputes courts have considered an employee
handbook to be a contractual obligation.
The employee handbook and other related policies should be one of the first formal
communications that you will have with an employee after they are hired. Make sure the first impression is a good one. Similarly, in the event of a dispute or poor performance
review, this will be the first place that the employee turns.
The handbook should contain enough detail to avoid confusion, but not so much as to
overwhelm them.
Training Manual development
A training manual is a system that will teach your employees exactly what your
companies expectations are. A training manual will help to ensure that the staff you hire
get the appropriate training necessary to complete all the tasks their position requires.
Why it is important: You must know the first impression to your new staff members is
crucial. When a new staff member is hired their greatest influence will be the training
they receive. Training manuals are one of the best keys for your staff. One of the
greatest benefits of having a training manual is that every staff member in the same
position will be trained with the exact same procedures and information. This helps the
cohesiveness of your organization.

precautions, preparation, and disinfecting recommendations for different rooms found in
educational facilities. Foundational information such as how to clean specific areas,
what equipment and chemicals should be used, and how frequently areas should be
cleaned is also included. Additionally, this video helps you understand your vital role in
keeping educational facilities clean and methods in preventing cross-contamination that
will help avoid the spread of diseases.

routine, interim, and restorative maintenance. Each phase is described and
demonstrated, step by step, so that you will know from start to finish how to perform
routine, interim, and restorative maintenance on floors. It also informs you what
equipment is needed to carry out the procedures, how to use the right equipment, and

knowledge is important because when a floor is properly coated and maintained it can
last indefinitely, avoiding costly stripping procedures.

millions in lawsuits and fines. By following simple procedures and practices in slip and
fall prevention found in this video you can help create a safer environment and avoid
potentially hazardous situations. This video covers five of the most common causes of
slip and fall accidents, steps to avoid slip and fall accidents, proper spillage cleanup,
what to do in case of a slip and/or fall, and personal safety practices. Information you
might not know, for example, being aware of the climate and type of floor you are
cleaning in order to help prevent slip and fall accidents is provided in this video. Helpful
tools, such as creating routine check lists and documenting your practices are also
introduced so that chances of slip and falls can be reduced. If a slip and/or fall should occur, any fines and/or lawsuits will be less than if you had not taken the necessary
precautions presented in this video.

considered exposure, universal precautions, protective practices, what to do if exposure
occurs, HBV and HIV symptoms, and employer responsibilities. This video helps you
understand how to increase safety in the workplace which in turn will protect not only
yourself, but everyone who enters the area you are cleaning.
Green Cleaning (101)
With so much attention being given to going green, it is no surprise that cleaning
companies are putting green cleaning programs into action. Green cleaning helps you
minimize affects on your health, the user, the building occupants health, and the health
of the visitors to the building, in addition, it minimizes affects on the environment. This
